Bill Wakeham is the head professional/tournament director at Royal Oak Golf Club.
Bill was born in Victoria and learned his golf at Uplands and Gorge Vale Golf Club.
He won the B.C. Junior and Canadian Jr. at age 16. After winning the B.C. Amateur twice, Bill turned professional in 1964. He went on the Canadian tour where he won the Ontario Open, 2 B.C. Opens, Washington State and Northwest Opens. He played the U.S. Tour in 1969. Bill joined the staff at Royal Oak in 1999.
Superintendant
Gregor J. Kowalski is a member of Canadian Golf Course, Superintendent Association, and the British Columbia Golf Course Superintendent Association.
Greg was born and raised in Vernon, B.C. in the Okanagan Valley. With a strong background in Agriculture and a love for the game of golf, Greg enrolled in the Turfgrass Management Program at Fairview College in 1989. He received a diploma 2 years later and is now entering his 12th season in Golf Course Operations, seven of them as Head Superintendent. His love for golf is only exceeded by his devotion to his family.
When asked what the future holds for the Royal Oak Golf Club, he stated "Our team wants Royal Oak Golf Club to be the premiere 9 Hole Golf Course on Vancouver Island and that we are well on our way."
